The Plan was simple. To take renovate the old cottage adding to it an extension that would contain the main lounge and an upstairs ensuite bedroom. Together with Mike Strachan, Manager of the Building Design Services Unit of the Scottish Agricultural College we have designed a cottage that fits into the esthetic look of the village, but contains a number of security and environmental systems that will evolve as time goes on.

 

An Air Source Heat Pump System developed by Renewable Energy Options of Perth is being installed to provide the majority of heating needs for the cottage, and surplus will be added to the national grid.
